CBD and Cancer-Related Symptoms

CBD for Beginners (6 of 7)

Hi there!

Yesterday, we talked about a few drug interactions you should be
aware of.

Today, weā€™ll look at CBD and cancer-related symptoms, along with
possible neuroprotective effects.

CBD is known to help to alleviate symptoms related to cancer, along
with side effects related to the treatments, such as nausea,
vomiting, and pain. Many people will ingest CBD before and after
a chemotherapy treatment, for example, in order to offset the
side effects.

One study of over 150 people who were suffering from cancer-related
pain looked at the effects of CBD and THC in regards to actual pain
control. Prior to the test, the people who participated had
indicated that they werenā€™t able to experience relief
from traditional pain medication.

This was their alliterative choice.

After the study was concluded, those patients treated with a
CBD/THC extract indicated they experienced a significant reduction
in overall pain compared to those who were treated only with THC
extract.

This shows that CBD can be exceptionally beneficial in reducing
cancer-based pain, but it also helps manage pain of many different
kinds.

Some animal studies have even indicated that CBD might have
anticancer properties. One study showed that CBD inhibited
the spread of aggressive breast cancer cells in mice.

A study found that concentrated CBD caused cell death in human
breast cancer cells. Of course, these are not human studies, so
they can only suggest a possible treatment.

Scientists also believe that CBDā€™s ability to act on the human
endocannabinoid system can provide benefit to those
suffering from neurological disorders like epilepsy and
multiple sclerosis.

In fact, these are the most studied uses for CBD overall.
Although research is still ongoing in this area of study,
several reports have shown promising results.

And CBD helps with many more ailments.

Sativex, for example, which is an oral spray of CBD and THC,
has been proven to lower muscle spasticity in multiple sclerosis
(MS)patients.

One study found that 75% of 276 patients experienced
reduced spasms with Sativex when traditional medications
werenā€™t working.

Another study found that CBD oil significantly lowered seizure
activity in children with Dravet syndrome (a childhood
epilepsy disorder). However, itā€™s important to note that some
patients experienced side effects such as convulsions, fever, and
fatigue.

CBD has also been studied for treatment in several other neurological
diseases.

For example, several studies have shown that CBD treatment improved
sleep quality for Parkinsonā€™s sufferers. And animal and test-tube
studies have shown that CBD might lower inflammation and help prevent
the degeneration of neurons in Alzheimerā€™s disease.

Tomorrow, weā€™ll have a CBD userā€™s wrap-up guide.
